Collars for Long Haired Dogs

You would think the choice of COLLAR for a DOG would be an easy thing, if it's the right size and the right colour, Bobs your Uncle, buy it!  Not so for Cocoa, as she is a SPANISH WATER DOG, her coat, unless trimmed is long, thick and prone to matting as she cannot be brushed.  In the past, all the DOG COLLARS we have used have just flattened her coat down around her neck, making it matted or worse, losing the fur on the part underneath the collar. Until we happened upon the RUFFWEAR KNOT-A-COLLAR, it is made of 7mm rope with sliding fisherman knots which are adjustable for a good fit, making it secure around the neck, but not too...

Shows

Further to my camping blog you will know that I am not really a fan of camping, I miss my creature comforts and to a certain extent I need order and routine.   So you would think that I wouldn’t exactly enjoy the travelling lifestyle that we currently seem to have as we visit show by show every weekend.  I always think that the nomadic lifestyle has been romanticised over the years, starting when I was child reading anything from Treasure Island to the Chronicles of Narnia, the fun, the adventure, the exotic places and the interesting people, so since starting TUFFDOGS STUFF LTD and visiting the country fairs has it lived up to my childish expectations? Bloat in Dogs

Bloat can be a serious problem and in dogs it has been known to be a life threatening condition.  Basically it enlarges the stomach which then puts pressure on other organs, making breathing difficult and decreasing the blood supply to other organs and if not caught quick enough, in extreme cases this can result in death. So what can be done to help prevent this symptom occurring?  Two of the main no no's are that you shouldn't exercise your dog one hour before consuming food and also one hour after, the same goes for drinking water too. Another common cause is eating far too quickly and Luca, our Italian Spinone is a prime example of this.  He will gulp 300g...
